My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The location was beautiful and definitely worth exploring, especially for its excellent parking facilities, but the noise from the nearby pub with live entertainment was bothersome. The room, although spacious, lacked certain amenities like a wardrobe, and there were a couple of cleanliness issues that could be improved.

Rooms
7.0
The room was spacious and had everything we needed, but it was directly over the bar, resulting in loud music and karaoke until past midnight. It was lacking a wardrobe and had a few stains on the walls.
Service
6.0
The service was comfortable, and the housekeeping was okay. However, the room was not vacuumed for three nights, with the same leaf and breadcrumbs every morning.
Location
8.0
The location was beautiful, definitely worth a walk around, and convenient for reaching the racecourse. However, it was next to a pub with live entertainment, causing noise disruptions.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was fine with plenty of good food to eat, but the bed could do with a new mattress, and the shower head needed replacing.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were okay, but a couple of improvements could enhance the overall experience.

The hotel had a fantastic location, close to the town center and across from the Terry Pratchet museum/shop. The rooms were compact but adequate for a one-night stay, although we found some rubbish under the bed. The dining experience at The Dolphin was of good standard with a great choice, though the promptness of refills could be improved. Overall, a beautiful location that needed a bit of TLC, covered with a huge gazebo.

The room above the kitchen was fabulous and perfect for the three of us with no complaints. It was compact but adequate for our one-night stay, despite finding some rubbish under the bed.
Service
6.0
The service, including housekeeping and the welcome drink, was satisfactory. Pet amenities were also available.
Location
8.0
The location was brilliant and beautiful, definitely worth a walk round. It was also close to the town center and right round the back, but needed a bit of improvement in cleanliness.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience at The Dolphin was lovely with a great choice of Mediterranean dishes. However, promptness in refills could be better.
Facilities

The facilities could do with a bit of an update for a better experience.

8.6/10

I stayed at the hotel, which had a great location in the center of town, making it convenient for exploring Wincanton and the surrounding areas. The rooms were comfy but a bit cramped due to the setup of two adjoining rooms. The service was top-notch, and the dining experience was scrummy. Ample parking spaces were available as a bonus.

Rooms
8.0
I found the rooms to be nice with very comfy firm beds, but the setup of two rooms with an adjoining door made the double room a bit cramped. The use of a twin room was convenient.
Service
9.0
The service was excellent, from friendly housekeeping to a warm welcome drink. Pet amenities were also available, showing great attention to detail.
Location
9.0
The hotel's central location in Wincanton was fantastic, providing easy access to the town and surrounding attractions. Ample parking spaces were a big plus for convenience.
Dining
8.5
The dining experience was delightful, with the option to enjoy a scrummy meal just outside the premises in a lovely separate building. The Stables Restaurant offered a serene atmosphere for a peaceful dining experience.
Facilities
8.5
The hotel had great facilities, including heat lamps over every table for outdoor dining. The overall setup was convenient and pleasant for guests.
